Our History
Gaming for 40 Years
1985

Incredible Technologies, then known as Free-Radical Software, is founded by Elaine Hodgson and Richard Ditton in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, developing a wide range of entertainment products for a variety of platforms and publishers.

1988

IT develops and manufactures an inexpensive hardware platform and unique game play for IT’s first coin-op game, Capcom Bowling. The success of this title, particularly in street locations, sets the stage for future coin-op titles.

1989

Golden Tee Golf, the original coin-op golf game, enjoys a modest success, and positions the trackball as a unique control device for future game versions and titles.

1990

IT develops and markets over 15 unique coin-op titles under the Strata brand, including Strata Bowling, Arlington Horse Racing, Golden Tee Golf II, Time Killers and BloodStorm.

1995

Backed by PGA Pro Peter Jacobsen, the third version of Golden Tee releases. Golden Tee 3D Golf debuts with robust custom hardware, better graphics and gameplay, and an all-new cabinet that catches on early and opens the door for location-based video entertainment.

1995

IT pioneers a method of communicating with thousands of game units across the country to offer automated skill-based contests with cash prizes. The International Tournament System with players and machine owners alike and moves Golden Tee Golf into an unprecedented entertainment category.

2000

The fourth generation of the Golden Tee franchise, Golden Tee Fore, made a major impact across North America, England, Australia, and New Zealand with the launch of its expanded online platform, ITNet. Over its five-year lifespan, more than $50 million in cash prizes were awarded through skill-based tournaments. During this era, Big Buck Hunter was introduced as a sister title, bringing ITNet connectivity and competitive skill tournaments to the hunting genre as well.

2004

Silver Strike Bowling, Incredible Technologies’ fourth generation of video bowling, joined the lineup with eye-catching 3D gameplay and full ITNet compatibility. Over the following years, it received two major version updates, with the latest release—Silver Strike LIVE—still operating in thousands of locations across the country today.

2005

The fifth and longest generation of Golden Tee launched with major upgrades to hardware, software, and overall gameplay. Wireless ITNet connectivity, instant stat access, expanded prize contest formats, and customizable golfers made the game more accessible to a wider audience. Ongoing annual course updates—along with new features and hardware enhancements—have helped sustain a passionate and growing player base for more than a decade.

2005

Seeing an opportunity to expand into adult-oriented video entertainment, IT began a long-term effort to diversify into casino gaming, working toward becoming a licensed manufacturer of Class III electronic gaming machines.

2008

PowerPutt, a video mini-golf game, became another hit for IT, with three versions leading up to PowerPutt LIVE. Its popular Daily Contest prize format debuted here and was later adapted into future versions of Golden Tee.

2011

IT introduced its Magic Touch gaming platform with its first suite of casino titles, including player favorites Crazy Money® and King of Bling®. This marked the start of a strategic rollout into several key gaming jurisdictions.

2014

The introduction of the Infinity® gaming platform and U23 cabinet established IT as a serious competitor in the gaming industry. The U23 featured major upgrades, including intelligent synchronized bank lighting, state-of-the-art sound and graphics, a digital display deck, and compatibility with IT’s patented Simple Sign Display Kit.

2014

Golden Tee reached a major milestone by celebrating 25 successful years in the pay-to-play amusement industry. During that time, more than 100,000 units were sold and operated on nearly every continent. Millions of players have played billions of games, generating nearly $400 million in annual game fees for small business owners.

2015

Ongoing innovation within the Infinity product line led to the development of the Infinity Skybox, featuring an interactive 55″ overhead display mounted vertically atop the popular U23 cabinet. The Infinity Skybox helped IT establish a strong presence in the ultra-competitive premium segment of the gaming industry.

2017

Infinity V55 was introduced as a new core form factor, featuring a fully touchscreen 4K vertical 55″ monitor on an Infinity U23 base. This created an immersive gaming experience on the largest screen ever offered on a core cabinet in the industry.

2018

The Infinity V55 Edge debuted in the Sawtooth configuration, with both being first-of-their-kind designs. As the industry’s first video wedge, it plays custom 4K video to deliver an unprecedented visual merchandising experience. The Sawtooth configuration also paved the way for bold, innovative feature bank layouts across casino floors.

2019

Golden Tee 2019 marked 30 years of the legendary pay-to-play video golf franchise. Players of all skill levels competed on dozens of fantasy courses for fun, stats, and big cash prizes. Millions of players worldwide continue to compete, generating nearly $500 million annually for small business owners. The milestone celebration culminated with the 2019 World Championships airing on ESPN that summer.

2021

Prism VXP™ debuted as a new core platform that redefined core gaming. As the first for-sale cabinet to incorporate mechanical movement into gameplay, it made a powerful impression across the U.S.

2021

Golden Tee PGA TOUR debuted with real-world TPC courses, bringing authentic tour-style golf into the arcade experience. Players could tee off on legendary layouts like TPC Sawgrass and TPC Boston, blending fantasy-style fun with the realism of some of the most recognizable courses in professional golf.

2023

The Prism product line expanded with its sophomore cabinet, Prism Element™. Featuring a sleek, simplified silhouette and ergonomic hardware, it lets players focus on what matters most: the game.

2025

Incredible Technologies celebrated its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of innovation in both amusement and casino gaming. From arcade classics to industry-leading gaming platforms, the company’s legacy is built on creativity, technology, and games that have entertained millions of players around the world.

Nearly a decade after IT invented the “Large Top Box” category with its iconic Infinity Skybox®, Prism Skybox™ stands tall in the Prism cabinet lineup. Inspired by a commitment to innovation and motivated by the needs of the market, Prism Skybox shook up the casino skyline.

2025

IT introduced a new cabinet form with the Showpiece PRO—an economical design that bridges the past and present of Golden Tee. Slightly smaller with a reduced footprint, it delivers the classic Golden Tee feel in a more compact, cost-effective option for both operators and home owners.
