Linux Systems Software Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a talented individual who not only loves Linux, but loves to tear it apart and build it back up. You will be working on a team responsible for constructing a working operating system to run our games, debug why drivers aren't working with the hardware, on occasion write a custom driver, and help chart a technology path for our operating system needs of the future. Be prepared to get your hands dirty!

Abilities:

Exhibit strong problem solving skills
Exercise great communication skills, as well as be organized and helpful
Highly motivated, self-starter, creative thinker
Capable of working in a team environment

Required Technical Skills:

Intimate knowledge of the Linux operating system environment (X86, Arm, or Android environments)
Strong abilities with Linux Kernel internal operations (2.4 and 2.6 kernels, with 3.0 is a plus!)
Capable of making custom modifications to Linux Kernel
Keen familiarity with Linux boot sequences (Lilo, Grub, Grub2, init, rc scripts)
Understanding of Linux kernel module and device driver interfaces
Well developed experience with Linux Ide's and debugging tools (gdb, top, sar, strace, etc.)
High level comprehension of C and C++
Excellent general debugging skills
Ability to program hardware devices at the register level is a plus
Embedded systems/firmware programming experience a plus (BIOS, UEFI, etc.)

Professional Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience) required
At least 5 years of software development experience
At least 3 years of Linux systems experience
